The class this spring will be on the Buddhist experience of the Japanese Internment Camps. We will use a book by Rev. Duncan Williams, a Japanese-American Soto Zen priest. The book is “American Sutra: A Story of Faith and Freedom in the Second World War”. It would be useful if you can get a copy and read it before the class starts on April 1. Maybe folks can share. I am about half way through it and after a rather dry intro, it is very interesting though disturbing. Williams is a Soto Zen priest and is the founder of the Tusuru Project, which encourages folding of paper cranes in support of internees from WWII but also for those interned at our borders.
